ABOUT ME

Sam Folvig

I have lived and worked in Darwin for around 10 years and I love it. I understand the unique challenges faced by Territorian's year round. I came to community services and mental health work through a long history of disability support. I am passionate about advocacy and recently was honoured to receive the Lord Mayor's Champion Award for Outstanding contribution to the community advocating for the rights and well being of people with disabilities.

My experience has given me an understanding of the NDIS framework, which means that I can utilise your funding to best suit your needs.

A RECOVERY COACH IS.....

Your gateway to recovery.

The NDIS defines a recovery coach as someone who has mental health knowledge, they will spend time with you and people important to you, to get to know you and understand your needs. They will help you to find out about different services and supports and how they may help you. They will help you get support from mental health services and develop a better understanding of your NDIS Funding.

As a recovery coach I see that my role is to understand you, the individual and what recovery means for you. I have experience in supporting people recovering from psychosis, re-engaging socially following anxiety. I appreciate being able to work with people through illness to recovery.

I practice from an inclusive, affirming, and non-judgmental stand point.
